Crapper and Sons Landfill Ltd are leading the way in wood recycling. We receive unsorted wood products from building works, transfer stations and local councils.
We then sort the wood into different grades before processing it to meet the specification of the end user.
A Grade for Board Mills and Biomass
We make a high quality A Grade woodchip product which is used for biomass where it is burned to produce energy at power stations. A similar product is also sent to board mills for the production of chipboard.
To meet both specifications above, we are required to remove the smaller materials (particles between 0-15mm in size) using an industrial screener. This smaller product left over is known as fines/dust.
Woodchip for Animal Bedding
We can supply A Grade large woodchip for animal bedding as well as a finer product (0-15mm) referred to as fines/dust, however due to the nature of our business we cannot guarantee that the product will not contain a small percentage of contamination such as plastics, glass, nails, metals etc.
Woodchip for Biomass
All wood materials not classed as clean enough for A Grade including MDF, chipboard, ply etc. are used to make a C Grade processed material for Biomass.
